2015 Latin Salsa Festival
Saturday, June 13, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Landing, Fort Walton Beach
Presented by the Northwest Florida Boricuas Ausentes, Inc. and Breeze Entertainment, LLC, this is a free event for the entire family. Come on out and try new foods, enjoy the music, and watch a bit of salsa dancing. Experience local latin flavors here on the Emerald Coast.
ECAR Volleyball Tournament
Sunday, June 14, Beginning at 8:00 a.m.
The Boardwalk, Okaloosa Island
Enjoy the summer sun and a bit of volleyball. Don’t play? No problem, you can hang out on the beach and root for your favorite players. All proceeds from this event will benefit Building Homes for Heroes, a non-profit organization that builds mortgage-free homes for military members wounded in Irag or Afghanistan. The proceeds will specifically go to help build a home for Capt. Nathan Nelson, confined to a wheelchair after having sustained a severe spinal cord injury when serving in Afghanistan.
Dancing with Desire 2015
Thursday, June 18, Beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Mattie Kelly Arts Center, Niceville
Fred Astaire Dance Studio presents another great Dancing with Desire event featuring celebrities and long-time dancers from the show “Dancing with the Stars.” Noah Galloway will be one of the performers this year. Ticket prices range from $35 to $100 and all proceeds benefit Horizon of Okaloosa County.
2nd Annual Hippie Festival
Saturday, June 20, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Fisherman’s Square, 700 Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach
Whether you’re too young to remember or old enough to want to forget, you’ve got to check out the 2nd Annual Hippie Festival. Tie-dye workshops, “Grooviest Threads” contest, hula hoop challenges, and much more will be part of this groovy and far out kind of day.
